About Me
Peter O’Grady represents contractors, suppliers and other construction professionals in litigation and transactional matters across the construction and real estate industries. His practice focuses on helping clients resolve disputes involving contracts, liens, payment issues, performance, and property-related conflicts. He also counsels clients proactively at the deal stage to help them avoid litigation down the road.
Peter brings more than a decade of legal experience to his work, including civil litigation in state and federal courts throughout Ohio, as well as extensive transactional and advisory work. Before joining Truax Law, Peter served as counsel to construction, employment, and real estate clients at regional law firms. He has also represented community associations and secured creditors in both litigation and bankruptcy proceedings.
Peter’s path to law was shaped by hands-on service. He is a U.S. Air Force veteran who served as a firefighter and emergency responder during Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. Prior to practicing law, he worked as a paramedic and fire contractor supporting military and civilian personnel. That same steady, client-first mindset now guides his work in the legal field.
Peter is a four-time Ohio Super Lawyers “Rising Star” honoree (2022–2025). He is a proud life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Where are you from originally?
I was born in Nurnberg, West Germany as an Army brat. My parents are originally from greater Cleveland, so we settled in North Olmsted when I was about 10. I am obviously Irish, but my mother is Italian.
When you’re not working, what do you do (i.e. interests, hobbies)?
I enjoy watching Cleveland sports and playing with my kids when I am not working.
Who should call you?
Potential clients with construction, real estate, or business dispute questions should contact me.
When should they call you?
Reach out to me immediately if you have any questions about construction or business disputes. The best time to reach out is at the time you are considering participating in any real estate or construction transaction, so we can help you avoid the cost of litigation.
