Phil Truax Honored as 2022 Ohio Super Law and CLSA Fellow
Truax Law is pleased to announce that our founder, Phil Truax, has been selected as an 2022 Ohio Super Lawyer, and a Fellow of the Construction Lawyers Society of America (CLSA).
The CLSA, meanwhile, is an invitation-only, international honorary association composed of preeminent lawyers specializing in construction law and related fields. According to CLSA (https://www.constructionsociety.org/about/), fellowship is limited and selective, with lawyers being invited into Fellowship upon a proven record of excellence and accomplishment in construction law at both the trial and appellate levels.
Lawyers nominated or selected may be in any discipline in the construction law arena, including contract specialization, negotiations, litigation, arbitration, appellate and/or surety law, but who have in addition superior ethical reputations. The CLSA seeks a high level of diversity in its selection process; fellows are generally at the partner or shareholder level or are independent practitioners with recognized advanced status among their peers.
The CLSA is dedicated to promoting superior advocacy and ethical standards in construction law and fostering a scholarly and advanced exchange of ideas in all practices related to the specialty.
Super Lawyers Magazine distinguishes the top 5% of attorneys in Ohio in more than 70 practice areas, and recognizes those who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement as Super Lawyers. Phil has been honored as an Ohio Super Lawyer since 2019, and before that as a Rising Star Super Lawyer from 2014-2018.
Phil Truax focuses his practice in construction law, including construction contracting, risk management, and litigation.
Phil provides counsel and represents contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, owners, and developers through all project phases and claim disputes – including negotiation and review of contract forms and front-end project documents; bidding and bid protest matters; management, prosecution, and defense of claims made during construction, including extra work scope claims, insurance coverage issues, and claims for differing site conditions, extended general conditions, lost productivity, acceleration and delay; and filing and defending against mechanic’s lien, public lien, and payment bond claims in Ohio and other states.
Phil prides himself and the Firm on strategically managing claims to avoid court but when necessary, aggressively handling construction disputes in litigation, arbitration and mediation.
Truax Law also provides representation and counsel to small businesses in the manufacturing and service industries.
