About Me

Nathan Woodward is a trial attorney who helps contractors, suppliers, business owners, and property owners navigate construction and contract disputes. His practice focuses on litigation involving construction defects, contract breaches, nonpayment claims, and other conflicts that arise during residential and commercial construction projects.

Nathan’s clients include builders, subcontractors, tradespeople, developers, and homeowners across northern Ohio. Whether you’re facing a threatened lawsuit or trying to recover payment for completed work, Nathan delivers calm, clear legal counsel backed by over a decade of experience.

Before joining Truax Law, Nathan represented clients in a variety of civil and insurance-related matters at other respected regional and national law firms. His background includes defending companies in high-stakes liability and coverage disputes, serving as house counsel for a major insurer, and representing individuals in employment, injury, and real estate litigation. This wide-ranging experience gives Nathan a unique perspective on construction law—and a reputation for being both practical and tenacious in pursuit of results.

Get to Know Nathan: A Quick Q&A

Where are you from?

I grew up in Davenport, Iowa and got my undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa in Iowa City. I’ve lived in the Cleveland area off and on since 2008, and I recently moved to the west side (Lakewood) for the first time.

When you’re not working, what do you do?

I love to spend time with my daughter, especially going to museums and sporting events and exploring the outdoors; I like to exercise; I play golf; I play guitar; I enjoy camping, hiking, and cycling.

Who should call you? What types of businesses or clients do you help?

Builders, tradespeople, business owners, homeowners, or anyone who finds themselves involved in a commercial or residential construction-related dispute.

When should they call you?

Builders and subcontractors should call if they’re not getting paid what they should be paid when they should be paid, when someone is threatening to sue them related to alleged design or construction defects or payment issues; residential and commercial property owners should call if a contractor has failed to perform work they agreed to do or have been paid to do, and if faulty construction has caused them problems with their home.
